Commission : THANK YOU for @royalbritishlegion

Brief: To create conversation through the artwork to mark the start of the ‘Thank You’ movement, 100 years ago the First World War ended, and a new world began. The example and experience of those who lived through it shaped the world we live in today. ” Over 3 million soldiers from across the Empire and Commonwealth served alongside the British Army in WW1, from Australia, Africa, Canada and India and beyond, and were a crucial part in the war effort. In total 1.27m Indians voluntarily served as combatants and labourers and so many Maharajas volunteered for service that their numbers had to be restricted. The Royal Pavilion in Brighton was turned into a temporary hospital for Indian soldiers who had been injured”
