‘‘Thief of Baghdad’ depicts a Middle-Eastern palace of antiquity, its onion domes rising on spires above arcades of pointed arches. Arnett has created a sumptuous vista, adding depth and detail, through golden flora and fauna, exotic birds, and swirling patterns in an array of bright colours against the blue night sky. With dreamlike intensity, ‘Thief of Baghdad’ powerfully captures the vibrancy of Eastern scenery.‘Max’ depicts an etching of Brighton’s iconic Pavilion, rendered in white lines against a black background. All around the Regency palace, Arnett has filled the image with an explosion of exotic flora and fauna in an exquisite array of bright colours. At the centre, one of Brighton’s festive snow dogs stands amongst the foliage, printed with Indian-inspired designs. With her incredible eye for colour, composition, and texture, Arnett has brilliantly captured the vibrancy and eccentricity of beautiful Brighton.
