Bespoke Designs

R & M’s extraordinary home in Kemptown, Brighton needed a design to harmonise the first floor and tell a story throughout their space.

They envisioned a concept that would evolve into textiles, drapes, and tiling, creating a seamless dialogue across their interiors.

Sarah was commissioned to craft bespoke artwork, enhancing the home’s period features while embracing the natural shifts in light across their long sitting-dining room, which opens onto a garden.

The result was a stunning wallpaper that transitions from day to night, flowing effortlessly into curtains, cabinet interiors, chairs, cushions, and an outdoor tiled wall.

Inspired by the first design Sarah was invited to design the hallway wallpaper, completing the ground floor and creating an enchanting entrance to their beautiful home.

Transforming Space Through Story

From the cave drawings of prehistory to the grandeur of tapestries and frescoes, humans have always used surfaces to tell stories. Today, with advanced techniques and limitless imagination, walls, floors, and ceilings can be transformed into immersive narratives that stretch as far as the eye can see.

The artefacts we choose to display in our homes have long served as both intimate reminders and subtle messages—clues for guests, and aide-mémoires for ourselves. These personal stories leap from the walls, flowing onto furniture, drapes, and upholstery, adding layers of sensuality, escapism, and meaning.

Every commission begins with a story—waiting to be reimagined. Each interior becomes a unique collaboration between client and creative, where imagination turns space into a living, breathing narrative.
