Details

There’s something timeless about a kaftan. Effortlessly elegant, flowing and light, it celebrates the beauty of movement and simplicity. Sarah creates her kaftans using the full width of fabric — nothing cut away, nothing wasted. Every inch honoured, every thread part of the design.

This approach is both intentional and sustainable. It reflects a philosophy of respecting materials and embracing form without forcing it. The result? Garments that drape beautifully, breathe easily and feel as good to wear as they are to behold.

Each kaftan becomes a moving canvas for Sarah's prints, flowing uninterrupted across the fabric, bold yet serene, framing the body in colour and story. Perfect for summer, a kaftan is more than clothing, it’s a statement of grace, ease, living beautifully and lightly in the world.

The Story behind

Each print Sarah creates is inspired by places shes been — from the refined calm of Japan to the vibrant energy of Africa. Sarah brings those impressions home, translating textures, colours and moods into wearable art.

This particular piece is inspired by her lifelong love of fans. Sarah's always been captivated by their delicate beauty — the filigree of carved wooden fans from Valencia to the elegance of hand-painted silk fans in Japan. Sarah's aunt once owned an antique fan shop in Bath and as a child would loose herself in the wonder of those intricate pieces. She remembers thinking, Maybe one day I’ll have one of my own.
