Fern Looking Left - Canvas

Regular price £190.00

Inspired by the folklore of the fern flower — a mysterious bloom believed to appear only briefly on Midsummer's Eve. These contemporary botanical canvas artworks emerge from layers of cyanotyped fern leaves, their delicate silhouettes created through the interaction of sunlight and shadow.

Fascinated by the way folklore grows from the unexplainable, Sarah Arnett transforms these forms into imagined forest goddesses, suspended somewhere between nature, dream and myth. According to legend, whoever discovered the elusive fern flower would be granted great fortune.

Available individually or as a complementary pair, each limited edition canvas is printed on premium cotton canvas and individually hand embellished with genuine gold leaf, making every piece subtly unique.

Details

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag a white cotton artist paper known for its soft, luxurious feel and lightly textured surface. This subtle texture gives artwork a sense of depth and dimension, making prints look rich and detailed.

It's acid- and lignin-free, conforming to ISO 9706 standards—so it's built to last and ideal for archival, museum-quality prints. Printed locally and hand finished in Sarahs Brighton Studio with 24ct burnished gold leaf. Sarah uses traditional gold leafing techniques, each dot of gold hand applied, meaning no two are the same.

FRAMING
Available for delivery in the UK only. Prints are float mounted which raises artwork above the mount, creating a gallery effect. We use museum grade perspex not glass. If you are ordering a frame you will be contacted by email to double check your order.
